Boys Day Out!

img_0060This past Saturday I sprung a surprise on Haydn. I  had been telling him all week that we were going to do something on Saturday, but I didn’t tell him what it was. He was stoked with anticipation. A few weeks ago I bought two tickets to the Monster Jam at the BiLo Center, downtown Greenville.

I’ve never been to a Monster Jam so I was somewhat excited about it as well. Earlier in the week I went by Advance Auto to pick up some free Pit Party Passes so we could go down on the floor and take pictures of the Monster trucks. We arrived about 10:30 AM for the 2 PM show. We had ear muffs and plugs, plus a camera.

Haydn was wide-eyed when he walked in. He knew it was big, but couldn’t quite get his head around it. He was grinning from ear to ear. It was one of those pleasurable moments that a Father has with a son. To watch him enjoy life through my provision. It was very satisfying for me. It didn’t matter as much about me enjoying the Monster Jam. But I was enjoying my son enjoying life. It was a great time.

We milled around the big trucks for an hour or so and then went to find our seats. A bit later we went to the restroom and while on the way I saw a sign that said “Free VIP” seating today, open to the public. I asked the lady standing at the door if this was for us and she said it was. We went in and found two cushioned seats in the lounge. We had front row seats at the BiLo Center. They were great!

They also had a catered luncheon for $7.75 for BBQ chicken, macaroni and green beans. The cotton candy was $15 and the meal was $7.75. Umm… We bought the BBQ.

Around 2PM they cranked up the trucks and it was unbelievably loud. They also had motorcycle jumps, four-wheeler races and of course the Monster Trucks. It was a good day.

Haydn came home and got out his Monster Trucks and began to run over the top of his cars. It was a great boys days out!

Tristen’s Play Date with the E-Boys

Hello again! This is Tristen. Today was fun. We went to my friends house for a play date with my brother and my sister. We went to the Carnahans. We played with their castles. I did not know how to build one of the castles they made so I built one out of blocks.

After we played with the castles we went outside to play with chalk and ride their scooters. Then we went back inside. We had a snack. After the snack we played with the castles again. Then we had to drop the boys at art class. They were Enoch, Ezra and Eben. When we came back to the house my mom was here. We went back home to see what our house looked like.

It was being painted. After it was painted we played outside with our neighbor Jacob.

See you next time, Tristen.

Apple is changing on iTunes

Beginning today, all four major music labels — Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and EMI — and thousands of independent labels, now offer their music in the DRM-free iTunes Plus format with higher-quality 256 kbps AAC encoding. iTunes customers can also now purchase and download songs directly onto their iPhone 3G over their 3G network — just as they do with Wi-Fi today — for the same price as downloading to their computer. And in April, based on what the music labels charge Apple, songs on iTunes will be available for 69¢, 99¢, or $1.29, with most albums still priced at $9.99. Read more…

Happy Children

img_0048God reminds me again that my children are very happy and have no problems. They have not learned heartache yet. Their lives have gone from one victory to the next. They are living in a way that I could only dream of as a kid. It is a glorious thing to watch and something I am wonderfully glad in God about. Lucia and I are blest beyond measure.
